Id say no, but one can make the case that hes facing tougher competition than Fedor was facing in Pride...So, what you say, Sherdog?

Conor's win over Aldo is better than any win in Fedors career. But is he better? Surely you can't be serious.

I think his Nog and Crocop victories are just as good when you consider how good they were when he beat them

In terms of technique and strength of schedule, yes, he's already had a better career if you ask me.

Neither of them are on Aldo's level. Aldo is literally top 5 of all time. 10 years undefeated and amazing everywhere. Nog and Cro Cop are great wins but not on par with Aldo.

i dunno man. i know everyone throws around the "he only fought cans his whole career" but at the time, the top heavys in the world where in pride. and he beat them. and arguable the only other top heavys around where over at UFC, and they where arlovski and big tim. and we all know what happened to them when they faced fedor. I guess you can make the argument about mir, but he had screws in his leg and wasnt fighting lol.

Fedor beat Prime CroCop/Nog/Arlosvki/ etc in the HW division, while being undersized.

Conor beat out of prime Aldo in the Manlet division while being the biggest one.

    Fedor is much better.

If Conor KOed Aldo a couple of weeks ago and then decided to fight Cody Pfister in a couple of weeks, yeah.

Fedor has some very high-level wins, but he also mixed in some squash matches during his prime. That's unforgivable. One could argue that going from Poirier to Siver was a step down in quality, true, but it's nowhere near as bad as going from, say, Big Nog and Cro Cop to Zulu. That record is a rollercoaster ride. Conor has mostly shown an increase in competition each time he's fought, save one detour that was Siver. You can't really go up from Aldo, though he can do his best to continue to fight the best they have. RDA, Edgar, Aldo rematch, maybe Holloway, or some other guys at 155...fighting all of those guys and winning would definitely mean he's surpassed Fedor. To deny that is to deny reality--and an indicator of buttmadness.

TS is an idiot. Call me after he is undefeated for 10 years (with the vast majority being finishes) and beats like 6(?) former UFC champions. Let me know if he ever gets to a 31-1 record by age 34 when the combat toll (of multiple fighting disciplines at once) take hold on his body and the decline begins...oh wait, he's already lost more than 1. Maybe Connor could beef up his stature a bit by being the multiple time National and World Combat Sambo or another martial arts discipline at the same time he is holding a UFC belt.

    • World Combat Sambo Federation
      • 2002 WCSF World Combat Sambo Championships Gold Medalist
    • European Combat Sambo Federation
      • 1999 European Combat Sambo Championships Gold Medalist
    • All-Russia Sambo Federation
      • Russian Combat Sambo National Championship (2002, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012)
      • 2008 President's Cup Combat Sambo Gold Medalist
    • Combat Sambo Federation of Russia
      • Russian Combat Sambo National Championship 3rd Place (1998, 2000)
      • 2004 Dagestan Open Combat Sambo Gold Medalist
      • 2003 Union of Heroes Cup Combat Sambo Gold Medalist
      • 2003 Moscow Open Combat Sambo Gold Medalist
      • 1998 Russian Armed Forces Championships Absolute Silver Medalist
      • 1998 Russian Armed Forces Championships Gold Medalist
Or perhaps have some Judo medals as well:
    Judo
International Judo Federation 1999 Sofia Liberation A-Team Senior Bronze Medalist
1999 Moscow International Tournament Senior Bronze Medalist

Russian Judo Federation Russian National Championship Senior Absolute 3rd Place (1999)
Russian National Championship Senior 3rd Place (1998)

Werdum has the biggest win in MMA history than when he defeated Fedor. Not a single real loss and he defeated all the top fighters at his weight except for Randy. I still give more credit to the man who put the streak together than the man who beat him 10 years after he started the streak.

    Well, sure
yeah....but Fedor was beating top guys who often outsized him. And big nog was a big f'ing deal in those years. I don't think just the numbers of title defences, etc, can be the only parameter to compare Aldo to Nog for example.

Being open about beating "midgets", and having a self-declared huge physical advantage over the opposition he dispatched puts him a step beneath Fedor.

In heavyweights, there's no big or small nonsense. If you make it in HW, it means you're really the sh*t. Everything else is under ideal pressure and temperature conditions.

was the roller coaster ride of a record that serious? they do it in boxing all the time and no one says anything, but when fedor does it (and did it pretty damn impressive) its an issue?

The comparison is ridiculous. Thank you for your points.

And Fedor was not championing dieting to beat smaller guys.....
