Its got nothing to do with how good he is. You should go take a nap. You aren't acting too sharp

It's an issue because Fedor's "streak" is constantly paraded in front of fighters who will never have the luxury of padding the hell out of their records like Fedor did. This isn't boxing; MMA champions generally fight contenders. The fact that Fedor milked the hell out of a very dubious period in MMA history shouldn't earn him so much leverage against guys who are pulling off REAL streaks today.

Fedor was the best HW of his era and is in the discussion for best HW of all time, but that's it. GOAT status is reserved for guys like GSP and Jones.

As for the topic, Conor isn't better than Fedor yet but if he actually pulls off the string of victories he's planning he'll surpass Fedor quickly.

They're both better than anyone wasting their time discussing which of them is better. Shouldn't you winners be focusing on winning?

Let's see Conor fight someone 40lbs heavier than him, then you can talk.

I agree that the Aldo win is more impressive than any of Fedor's wins, and no Aldo wasn't past his prime..

But he hasn't equaled Fedor's career .. Yet.

Fedor was by far more rounded and all around better. Conor has better boxing but that's it.

When people are actually discussing the GOAT it is always between these two, no one really compares to the reign of them. I can't think of a single HW who has the resume to challenge Fedor's.

It's not "padded"...he was ACTIVE. If you believe it was "padded" then surely there are many of top guys that he ducked...not. He fought the best fighters at the time (Nog 2x...was considered the best ever at that time, Dominated Cro-Cop a stone-cole killer, made Herring look like a boy, etc)...and they were in PRIDE. And he beat them ALL very decisively. And then he filled in the down time crushing cans, beating former UFC champs (Coleman 2x, Randleman), beating World Vale Tudo Champions (Herring), Multiple time K1 GP champions (schilt), and winning multiple Sambo National and World titles. After Pride he to KO'd UFC champions Big Tim and Arlovski brutally just to try to shut up some of the naysayers.

So Yes, he beat cans...and then he also beat all of the best fighters of his era. He was smaller than many and pudgy around the middle...and he didn't diet to drop down into a different division in order to have a size advantage over anyone.

Whom from the UFC that was vying for the title (list below) do you think he really should've been fighting instead of the "cans" that were available to him in Pride? I'd much rather see him battle Fujita, Goodridge, Hunt, Lindland, and Semmy Schilt.
UFC Top Fighters of the era:
    • Mir (just had the motorcycle accident)
    • Big Tim (Ko'd later on)
    • Arlovski (Ko'd later on)
    • Ricco Rodriguez
    • Gan McGee
    • Cabbage Correira
    • Justin Eilers
    • Paul Buentello
    • Jeff Monson (Beat later on)

The resume of the "Can" Semmy Schilt:
    GTFO

His striking is obviously better. The only argument after that is really big nog and CC vs Mendes and Aldo. I pick the latter

When people call Fedor the GOAT they talk about the size of his win streak, not the quality of his opponents. Yes, he fought the best available, but if he ONLY fought the best available his steak wouldn't be nearly as long or impressive. Padding doesn't imply he ducked anyone, it implies that his number of wins has been heavily inflated by weak opponents.

At the time Fedor beat him, Nog was way bigger than anyone in the sport and way bigger than Aldo. He´s still the second best HW of all time, after Fedor. People seems to have short memory

One also fought in the UFC and is a current champion. Undefeated in the UFC. All wins but 1 by finish.

The other is about to fight a journeyman kickboxer.

Too early to say. Conor needs longevity to be properly compared to Fedor.
