My German archimede has heat blued hands. They look better than hands done chemically or painted. Pictures don't do them justice. The same with many white dials.

There are so many nice/quality brands out there it's crazy. Many brands just don't advertise as much as Rolex, Omega, or tag.

Zenith is Swiss, and def. not "mid-priced".

Other than that, 100%. A Nomos dress watch and a Sinn diver or Pilot's watch would be a killer pair for all occasions, and get the nod of approval from any watch guy for less combined cost than a Submariner.

My bad. Didn't know zenith was Swiss.

I really like that Sinn 903. It has that breitling navitimer look. That and their U series divers are my favourites from them.

What do you guys think about doxa divers? I kind of dig the orange dial with the turtle case design.

The best watch I've ever had was a Casio F-91W, they last forever and they cost between $10-20.

I don't own one but love the look of some doxas. Guy fieri from the show diners drive ins and dives wears one sometimes.

Nicely done. I must admit that I didn't stumble upon it from the show though. I am a member of a watch forum. Lots of great information and you get introduced to brands that most will never hear about.

Honestly now that Tudor offers an in-house COSC caliber with a 70 hour power reserve, it's "game over" for the sub $5K sporty watch market.

I looked at all the brands you have suggested all are very nice. I have narrowed my search down to blue face dials also under 44mm.

Rolex, ive owned two that were vintage and theyre pretty cool. The oldest was a 1958 Explorer II and it stuck out and mad people ask about it which gave me an opportunity to tell the story about it. I dont know, sometimes i think about something different. My daily is a citizen shyhawke which is a nice watch for daily wear and I actually love the citizen brand.

Didn't know they did in house now. Nicely done. Get in when you can though because the prices will probably go up as they become more popular.
