They are very generous with their habitable zone. They assume the planets are all tidally locked meaning one side is always pointed at the star. It is a smaller star so the habitable zone is much closer to the star with very short period orbits. Most of the stars energy is in the infrared zone. One side of the planet will be extremely warm and the other extremely cold which is likely the reason they extended the habitable zone. Without rotation it is unlikely there will be magnetic fields. Any place for life to exist would be between the day and night margins.
