They are very generous with their habitable zone. They assume the planets are all tidally locked meaning one side is always pointed at the star. It is a smaller star so the habitable zone is much closer to the star with very short period orbits. Most of the stars energy is in the infrared zone. One side of the planet will be extremely warm and the other extremely cold which is likely the reason they extended the habitable zone. Without rotation it is unlikely there will be magnetic fields. Any place for life to exist would be between the day and night margins.

Sounds like tsunami and storms are a daily occurrence. If there are people there, they must be very adaptive and vigorous.

I'm satisfied with the news and the fact that we will learn more about this system soon. It doesn't take much in the space world to excite me though.

    Not inside it?
    Usually.
That's the kind we're looking for anyways. In another couple billion, other astronomers in other solar systems can look to find us inside Sol.

Without knowing the conditions required to develop life, it isn't possible to develop any odds for life on other planets.

Some like to compare life to dice, the more dice you have the more chance of getting a certain number. I see life on earth as like throwing one 6 sided cube billions of times resulting in a series of numbers that resulted in life. What is the likelihood of throwing another one and getting the same result?

Obviously. But I'm speaking very broadly, of my own estimation, regarding simple (microbial) life. I think it pretty likely, and we may even find it in Sol System, probably on a Jovian moon, within my lifetime

We can really use the information eclipses give us.
I'd tell you about the Upsilon Aurigae project but it's a whole thing.

If even 1 of these planets has even plant life, that's still a big deal
